People & Business :: People/Executives Rhodia to Cut Cellulose Acetate Jobs12:30 PM MST | January 14, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Rhodia has launched a program to improve the competitiveness of the company’s Rhodia Acetow (Freiburg, Germany) cellulose acetate business. The program includes 129 job cuts, 15% of the business’s total, and will target productivity and efficiency gains in production, administration, support services, and R&D, Rhodia says. Rhodia Acetow, “with production sites mostly situated in Europe, is particularly impacted by the weakness of the dollar,” Rhodia says.
