People & Business :: People/Executives Praxair starts up ASU for Braskem's PVC unit in Brazil4:12 PM MST | January 9, 2013 | Lindsay Frost Praxair’s Brazilian subsidiary White Martins has started up a new air separation plant at Alagoas, Brazil. Praxair will supply nitrogen and oxygen to Braskem as a part of the long-term contract. The plant will supply Braskem’s expanded polyvinyl chloride (PVC) unit with 200 m.t./day of capacity. Braskem invested $500 million in the new unit—which is the highest investment ever made by the company for a single project in Brazil, Praxair says.
