Platform Specialty Products reports income gain, flat sales

Platform Specialty Products (Miami), formed by the acquisition of MacDermid, posted a narrower net loss of $400,000 in the second quarter compared with a loss of $5.9 million in the year-ago quarter. The company says adjusted net income was $26.6 million, up 12% year-on-year (YOY). The increase in net income “is primarily attributed to favorable product mix, variable operating expense management, and increased work in the company’s long term tax planning,” Platform says.
