People & Business :: People/Executives Pfizer to Cut 200 More U.S. Jobs3:02 PM MST | November 6, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Pfizer says it will cut a total of 200 jobs at Portage and Kalamazoo, MI, within a year, in addition to job cuts announced across the group earlier in 2007. The job cuts represent about 7% of the combined workforce at the two sites. The move is partly due to lower-than-expected sales from Pfizer’s Exubera inhalable insulin drug. The company says it will halt sales of the drug. “What it boils down to is Kalamazoo manufacturing is not immune to the challenges of the competitive global environment,” Pfizer recently told The Kalamazoo...
