Harvey-Jones: ‘A legend within ICI.’ John Harvey-Jones, former ICI chairman, died on January 10 at age 83, after a long illness. Harvey-Jones was chairman of ICI between 1982 and 1987. ICI became in 1984 the first British company to record more than £1 billion in full-year, pretax profits.
