People & Business :: People/Executives Kemira May Cut 10% of its Finnish Workforce1:44 PM MDT | August 18, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Kemira says it may cut up to 300 jobs at its operations in Finland, 10% of its workforce there, as part of a worldwide cost-saving program. The plan targets annualized savings of more than €50 million ($75 million), of which more than €20 million will be in Finland. Measures will include “improvements to the group’s structure, organization, and current operating models,” Kemira says. The company has begun “co-determination negotiations” at its Aetsa, Espoo, Helsinki, Oulu, and Vaasa, Finland sites. Kemira has 13 sites...
