Airgas reports modest growth in sales, earnings

Airgas reported a rise in earnings for the quarter ended 30 September, despite higher SAP implementation costs, supply constraints in the helium market, and softer economic conditions. Net earnings grew 4%, to $81 million, and hit $1.03/share. Adjusted earnings were reported as $1.05/share, slightly below analyst estimates of $1.06/share, according to Thomson Reuters (New York).
