U.S. chemicals output is expected to fall 6.2% for 2009, before rising 3.4% in 2010 and 4% in 2011. Globally, output is projected to decline 4.6% this year, before rising by the same amount in 2010. Global GDP is forecast to decline 2.4% in 2009, which would be the first such decline since World War II. However, "the general consensus is that the recession has ended," ACC says.
