Flavors and fragrances firm Firmenich appoints new CEO

Firmenich (Geneva), the world's largest privately owned flavors and fragrances firm, has appointed Gilbert Ghostine as its new CEO, effective 1 October. Ghostine was most recently president/Asia/Pacific at Diageo, the world's leading premium drinks company. He succeeds Patrick Firmenich, who has been named vice chairman of Firmenich, effective October. Patrick Firmenich will assist Ghostine through the end of January 2015.
