Makhteshim reports higher third-quarter net income, appoints new CEO in Europe

Makhteshim Agan (MAI), a leading maker of generic agricultural chemicals, today reported a 30% rise in third-quarter net income to $13.1 million on flat sales at $643.5 million. Operating profit was 5% higher at $52.8 million.  "We are pleased to report a strong quarter with double digit sales growth in the Asia/Pacific & Africa region, as well as improvement in all our financial indicators for the first nine months, including Ebitda, operating profit and net income,” says Yang Xingqiang, chairman of Makhteshim Agan.  “We...
