US petroleum coke firm acquires Rütgers

Rain CII Carbon (Kingwood, TX) says it has acquired Rütgers (Zelzate, Belgium), a producer of coal tar pitch and coal tar–based chemicals, from private equity firm Triton for a gross enterprise value of €702 million ($921 million) plus certain contingent payments not exceeding €27 million during the next 3 years. Rütgers achieved revenues of €877 million and reported Ebitda of €103 million in the year ended 30 September 2012.
