Toray completes acquisitions of US carbon fiber firm Zoltek and South Korean firm Woongjin Chemical

Toray Industries says it has completed the previously announced acquisition of the entire stake in Zoltek (St. Louis), a company that manufactures and sells large-tow carbon fibers, for $584 million. Plans for the acquisition of Zoltek, which was established in 1975, were announced on 27 September 2013, and the deal was completed on 28 February 2014. With the completion of the acquisition, Zoltek shares have been delisted from Nasdaq, but the name of the company will remain unchanged, Toray says.
