Solvay, Ineos sweeten divestment package offered to secure EU Commission approval for chlorvinyls JV

Solvay and Ineos say they have offered the European Commission a revised remedy package, consisting of substantial asset divestments, to secure the commission's approval for the companies' proposed 50-50 chlorvinyls joint venture. The commission launched an in-depth antitrust investigation last November into the proposed jv and said that it would reach a decision by 21 March 2014.
