Sipchem starts commercial production of ethyl and butyl acetates

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem; Al Khubar) has announced that commercial production at its newly completed ethyl acetate and butyl acetate complex at Al Jubail will start on 1 September. The facilities are operated by its wholly owned subsidiary Sipchem Chemicals. The company announced in May that the complex was undergoing test runs.   The complex, with capacity for 100,000 m.t./year of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate, forms part of Sipchem’s plans to move downstream and to achieve full integration with its other manufacturing...
