Sigdo Koppers sells plastics business to Peru's Oben Holding

Sigdo Koppers (Santiago), an industrial conglomerate, has sold its plastics subsidiary Sigdopack in a deal valued at $51.6 million, according to a company filing with the Chilean financial services authority. Oben Holding Group (Lima) was the buyer, according to various local media reports. Oben specializes in the production of polypropylene films for packaging. The sale forms part of Sigdo Koppers' plan, laid out in 2010, to focus on the mining industry and related services. The transaction will be included as a one-off $28.4-million loss in Sigdo Koppers'...
