Samsung General Chemicals to merge with Samsung Petrochemical

Samsung General Chemicals (Seoul) and Samsung Petrochemical have announced that their boards have agreed to merge the two companies. The news comes just days after the group said that the battery and display manufacturer Samsung SDI will merge with electronics materials maker Cheil Industries. Samsung General Chemicals will issue new shares and absorb Samsung Petrochemical’s at a ratio of 1 to 2.1441.
