Reports: Grupa Azoty mulling fertilizer acquisitions

Grupa Azoty (Tarnów, Poland) is interested in buying Anwil's (WĹ‚ocĹ‚awek, Poland) fertilizer assets, according to local financial paper Puls Biznesu. Talks are being held between Azoty and PKN Orlen (PĹ‚ock, Poland), Anwil's parent, the reports say. The move would protect Azoty from takeover by Akron (Novgorod, Russia), which currently has a 15.34% stake in Azoty, other media reports say. “We treat fertilizers as a noncore activity.
