PPG Acquires Colombian Coatings Maker

PPG Industries says its subsidiary, PPG Colombia, has agreed to acquire the coatings business of Colpisa Colombiana de Pinturas (Colpsia; Medellin, Colombia) and its affiliates including Colpisa Ecuador. Terms were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close no later than the first quarter of 2012. Colpisa manufactures and distributes coatings for automotive OEM and refinish, industrial, and architectural coatings customers in Colombia and Ecuador.  The company employs about 400 people and has been a technology licensee of PPG’s automotive OEM...
