People & Business :: M&A Morgan Stanley Fund Acquires Stake in Chinese Chemical Firm for $300 Million (Update)6:34 PM MDT | March 24, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia (MSPE) has invested $300 million to acquire a stake in specialty chemicals company Tianhe Chemicals (Jinzhou, China). Tianhe mainly produces lubricant additives and specialty fluorochemicals. The Morgan Stanley fund has acquired a minority stake in Tianhe, reports say. Homer Sun, chief investment officer at MSPE Asia, will join the board of Tianhe. The investment is expected to help Tianhe expand its business to Europe and the U.S. Tianhe, which was established in 1992, is China’s largest producer of lubricant additives...
