People & Business :: M&A Merck KGaA Acquires Interest in Nanotech Start-up Company in Israel10:10 AM MDT | May 30, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Merck KGaA says it has acquired a stake in start-up QLight Nanotech (Jerusalem), a spin-off subsidiary of Yissum. QLight Nanotech develops products for use in displays and energy-efficient light sources based on semiconductor nanoparticles known as quantum dots. Yissum is the technology transfer company of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2012. Financial details were not disclosed.
