Israel blocks PotashCorp bid to acquire ICL

The Israeli government says it does not intend to approve plans by Potash Corp of Saskatchewan to acquire Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL; Tel Aviv). Israel's ministry of finance issued a statement, expressing its "professional reservation" about a possible takeover of ICL by PotashCorp. "The subject of a possible merger between Israel Chemicals and PotashCorp is not currently being considered," the statement says.
