DSM in exclusive discussions to acquire Chinese firm Aland Nutraceutical

DSM says that it is in exclusive discussions with Aland Nutraceutical (Jingjiang, China), a global producer of vitamin C, for the acquisition of Aland. The discussions may or may not result in the acquisition of Aland, DSM says. If successful, this relatively small acquisition would allow DSM to further strengthen its position in vitamin C, DSM says. Aland, which was established in 1990, has a production facility in Jiangsu Province, China, and the company generated sales of about $90 million in its vitamin C business in 2013, DSM says.
