Brenntag to acquire South American specialties distributor

Brenntag says it has signed a preliminary agreement to acquire specialty chemicals distributor Delanta Group (Buenos Aires), for $14.4 million. Delanta—which distributes specialty chemicals for paints and coatings, ceramics, construction, and food chemicals—has business in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. Delanta’s 2011 sales totaled $24.3 million, with adjusted Ebitda of $2.4 million, Brenntag says. The transaction is expected to close by the end of next month.
