Bayer to swap animal health for Merck's consumer-care business? (Update)

Bayer has declined to comment on a Reuters report that the company plans to swap its animal health business for Merck & Co’s consumer health operations. Reuters’ Tuesday report cites people familiar with the matter. “While our businesses don't have tags saying "core" or "noncore," we several times mentioned that we look at opportunities to expand our life science businesses internally and externally.
