BHP Billiton details spinoff plans

BHP Billiton (Melbourne) today gave more information relating to the spinoff of some of its assets into a new metals and mining company dubbed NewCo. BHP, as previously announced, plans to demerge its aluminum, coal, manganese, nickel and silver mines, including the Cannington silver and lead mine in Australia but said it plans to sell its Australian Nickel West business separately and is in talks with potential buyers.
