People & Business :: M&A BASF Sells Marine Biopolymers Business to Norwegian Company10:02 AM MDT | July 3, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas BASF says it has signed a contract with Seagarden (Haugesund, Norway) to sell BASF's Chitosan marine biopolymers business. The transaction, expected to be formally completed by August 2012, will include the Chitosan business and the production site at Tromsø, Norway. The business will be owned by Seagarden's subsidiary Chitinor, BASF reports. Seagarden specializes in natural seafood ingredients, marine bioactives, and biopolymers.
