People & Business :: M&A Asahi Glass buys Adeka out of epichlorohydrin maker Kashima Chemical12:59 PM MST | December 18, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Asahi Glass said today that it has agreed to buy Adeka’s share in Kashima Chemical (Kamisu City, Japan), a producer of epichlorohydrin and allyl chloride. Kashima Chemical, following the acquisition, will become majority owned by Asahi Glass. The shares are scheduled to be transferred on 25 December 2012. Asahi Glass and Adeka currently hold 39.375% each in Kashima Chemical, with Mitsubishi Chemical holding 11.25% and Mitsubishi Corp. 10%.
