People & Business :: M&A Asahi Glass buys Adeka out of Kashima Chemical2:03 PM MST | January 3, 2013 | —Natasha Alperowicz Asahi Glass says it has agreed to buy Adeka’s (Tokyo) share in Kashima Chemical (Kamisu, Japan), a producer of epichlorohydrin and allyl chloride. Kashima Chemical, following the acquisition, will become majority owned by Asahi Glass. The shares are scheduled to be transferred on 25 December 2012. Asahi Glass and Adeka currently hold 39.375% each in Kashima Chemical with Mitsubishi Chemical holding 11.25% and Mitsubishi Corp. holding 10%.
