Amyris announces funding milestones, JV expansion...

Amyris (Emeryville, CA) announced three milestones in its efforts to commercialize the biobased farnesene, including two funding agreements. The company says it has received confirmation that Total will provide $30 million of funding to Amyris by July, as anticipated in a revised collaboration agreement announced last year. The two parties intend to form a joint venture by mid-2013 to market renewable diesel, jet fuel, and other specialty products derived from farnesene.
