AkzoNobel to Acquire Specialty Surfactant Producer in China

AkzoNobel says it will acquire Boxing Oleochemicals (Binzhou, Shandong province, China) a leading supplier of nitrile amines and derivatives in China and Asia, to further strengthen the company’s position in specialty surfactants and to enhance its manufacturing footprint in Asia. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Boxing Oleochemicals, which was established in 1993, has an manufacturing site at Binzhou, and the company had revenues of about €100 million ($145 million) in 2010.
