Akzo Covers New Regions with ICI Acquisition

Key to Akzo Nobel’s planned purchase of ICI are the strengthening of its market share in the architectural paint sector and the further expansion of its geographical presence, especially in China, analysts say. The £8.1-billion ($16.1 billion) deal, which is expected to close by year-end, also further strengthens Akzo’s position as the largest paintmaker worldwide.
