AECI to Acquire GE Water Treatment Business in Africa

AECI (Johannesburg), an explosives and specialty chemicals company, has entered into an agreement with GE to acquire GE’s chemical and monitoring solutions business in Africa for $20 million, effective July 1, 2012. The business will be merged into AECI’s subsidiary ImproChem, a supplier of specialty water treatment and process chemicals and services in Africa.
