People & Business :: M&A AECI to Acquire GE Water Treatment Business in Africa2:05 PM MDT | July 6, 2012 | —Natasha Alperowicz AECI (Johannesburg), an explosives and specialty chemicals company, has entered into an agreement with GE to acquire GE’s chemical and monitoring solutions business in Africa for $20 million, effective July 1, 2012. The business will be merged into AECI’s subsidiary ImproChem, a supplier of specialty water treatment and process chemicals and services in Africa.
