FMC acquires pectin intellectual property

FMC has acquired pectin intellectual property, including product and formulation knowledge and customer data, from Vigido, a subsidiary of Unipektin Ingredients (Eschenz, Switzerland). Vigido was formerly the exclusive marketer of pectin products made by Pectine Italia (Milan), a pectin business acquired by FMC in 2012. The deal enhance FMC’s ability to work with low-pH food applications in pectin, broaden its pectin product line, and provide easier access to pectin customer applications, FMC says.
