People & Business :: Green Issues Total Commits to Building Photovoltaics Facility in France4:25 AM MST | November 19, 2010 | Alex Scott Total has announced that it will build a photovoltaic panel production and assembly plant at Moselle, France close to its Carling ethylene complex. The facility will have a surface area of 2,800 sq m and will house two production lines with a combined capacity of 50 Mw - equivalent to 220,000 photovoltaic panels each year. The project initially was announced in 2009, but was postponed until now. Construction of the facility is due to begin in early 2011. The first line is expected to start up toward the end of 2011.
