Novomer aims to scale ethylene-to-acrylic on US Gulf Coast by 2017

Novomer (Waltham, MA) has won a $5-million grant from the Department of Energy’s Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative to scale up a new process for the production of acrylic acid from ethylene and carbon dioxide. The company has partnered with a major industrial gas producer on the project, and discussions with chemical partners are underway, says Michael Slowik, director/chemicals at Novomer....
