ExxonMobil Pays Record $5.7 Million Fine for Failing to Disclose CO2 Emissions

ExxonMobil has been fined a total of £3.6 million ($5.7 million) for failing to disclose to the U.K. government the total CO2 emissions from its ethylene facility at Mossmorran, U.K., and its refining complex at Fawley U.K. It is the largest fine for a breach of environmental law in U.K. history.   The company has been fined £2.8 million for failing to disclose 33,000 m.t. of CO2 emissions from its ethylene plant at Mossmorran in 2008.
