European Parliament Approves Phosphate Ban, Phosphorous Limit in Consumer Detergents

The European Parliament has approved the European Commission's proposal to ban the use of phosphates, and to limit the content of other phosphorous-containing compounds, in consumer laundry and automatic dishwasher detergents by June 30, 2013, and January 1, 2017, respectively.
