People & Business :: Green Issues Dow's GHG Emissions Down 6% for 200810:58 AM MDT | July 22, 2009 | Vincent Valk Dow's direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emission declined by 6% from 2007 to 2008, according to the company's 2008 global reporting initiative (GRI) report. In the report, Dow cited "continuing efforts in energy reductions as well as lower operating rates during 2008" as reasons for the decrease. The company's direct GHG emissions rose by 5% from 2006 to 2007. Indirect GHG emissions, which include emissions related to Dow's activities that are emitted by another company, were flat from 2007 to 2008 after declining by 33% from 2006 levels.
