VCI says financial relief for energy-intensive industries is critical and appropriate (update)

The European Commission has opened an investigation into Germany's renewable energy law (EEG), chemical trade association VCI (Frankfurt) says. Germany's energy-intensive industries association EID (Berlin) expressed confidence at the opening of the EEG investigation, which will not have any immediate impact on the 140 so-called energy-intensive companies in the chemical industry in Germany, according to VCI.
