UPM and Renmatix sign biochemicals development agreement

UPM (Helsinki) and cellulosic sugar start-up Renmatix (King of Prussia, PA) have entered into a nonexclusive joint development agreement in the area of biochemicals, the companies announced today. Under the terms of the deal, both companies will further develop Renmatix’s water-based Plantrose process to convert wood biomass into low-cost sugar intermediates for subsequent processing into biochemicals.
