People & Business :: Energy and Feedstocks U.S. GHG Emissions Fell in 200811:09 AM MDT | April 16, 2010 | Vincent Valk Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the U.S. fell 2.9% from 2007 to 2008, according to an EPA report. Total emissions of the six primary GHGs totaled 6.96 billion m.t. of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). CO2 emissions, at 5.92 billion m.t., accounted for most of the total. Emissions remained higher than in either 1990 or 1995. Industrial sector emissions fell 2.3% from 2007, to 2008, to 1.34 billion m.t. Industrial emission resulting from fossil fuel combustion, which also fell, accounted for the majority of that total. Industrial sector emissions peaked in 1995...
