Study: Marcus Hook Site Could House Cracker or PDH Unit

Sunoco’s Marcus Hook, PA industrial complex—a former oil refinery and petrochemical facility that was shut down in December 2011—may be able to be reused in ways that would not exist if not for the rapid growth of U.S. shale oil and gas, according to a new study from IHS.   “With the recent shale developments and the abundance of cheap natural gas, the U.S. now has a feedstock cost advantage over most other regions of the world for producing certain petrochemical products, such as ethylene or propylene,” says Anthony Palmer...
