People & Business :: Energy and Feedstocks Start-up Petrochemical Company Seeks to Build Catalytic-Based Ethane Cracker in U.S. Northeast10:25 AM MST | February 14, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Aither Chemicals (South Charleston, WV) and Pittsburgh’s Renewable Manufacturing Gateway (RMG: Pittsburgh, PA) have signed a letter of engagement to invest about $750 million over the next five years to build an ethane cracker using Aither’s ethane catalytic cracker technology. The location has yet to be determined, but is slated for the tri-state region of eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia.
