Russia to discontinue discount on gas sold to Ukraine from next month

Gazprom (Moscow) said on Tuesday that as from next month, it will no longer sell gas to Ukraine at a discount until Ukraine settles its debt for the supplies it has already received. Alexey Miller, chairman of Gazprom, has told Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev that Ukraine owes Gazprom a substantial amount of money for the natural gas it received in 2013, and Gazprom has decided to remove the discount.   “Ukraine hasn't settled the gas debt of the last year and … the country's outstanding debt for current gas supplies is increasing...
