Report: Braskem could halt two units if naphtha-contract talks with Petrobras fail

Braskem could be forced to halt operations at two of its production units in Brazil in the coming weeks if talks with Petrobras over naphtha-supply pricing do not come to an agreement, according to a report from Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paolo. The Braskem production lines are at Maua and Camaçari, the report says. The site at Maua has a 450,000-m.t./year polypropylene production unit as well as two small oligomer production units, according to IHS Chemical data. The Camaçari complex includes a steam cracker with capacities to produce 1.28...
