Poland announces tax breaks for shale gas exploration

Poland has offered six-year tax breaks to the country's shale gas industry, to speed up exploration work. The Polish authorities have, in recent years, awarded shale gas exploration licenses, but uncertainty over the related tax regime and future legislation has caused multinationals such as ExxonMobil and Marathon Oil to abandon projects in the country.
