Kerry, Lieberman Introduce Climate Bill (Update)

Senators John Kerry (D., MA) and Joseph Lieberman (I., CT) are set to introduce a new climate bill today, according to Senator Kerry's website. The bill, called the American Power Act, will include a cap-and-trade system for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that targets energy intensive sectors, including power generation, heavy industry, and transportation. As CW reported previously, industrial sources will not be subject to emissions caps until 2016.
