JGC consortium wins contract to build floating LNG plant for Petronas

JGC announced today that it has received a contract from Petronas (Kuala Lumpur) to construct a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant on gas fields off the Malaysian coast. JGC is the leader of a consortium with Samsung Heavy Industries. The lump-sum, turnkey contract covers engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (Epcic) work for a floating LNG plant with a production capacity of 1.5 million m.t./year of LNG, which is scheduled for completion in 2018.   This project will be the second floating LNG plant to be constructed...
