Israeli firm completes trial of castor beans in Brazil for biofuel production

Evofuel (Rehovot, Israel) has completed three years of successful field trials in Brazil for the development of castor beans as an alternative feedstock for production of biodiesel and other industrial uses, the company has announced. Evofuel is a wholly owned subsidiary of Evogene (Rehovot), a plant genomics company specializing in enhancing crop productivity for the food, feed, and biofuel industries.
