IHS WPC 2012: Shale Gale Generates Building Boom, but Risks Must be Managed, Say Producers

A surge in shale gas production and gas-based feedstock will trigger a wave of petrochemical investments in North America, industry executives told attendees at IHS World Petrochemical Conference, currently being held in Houston. However, not all of the announced ethylene capacity, which now exceeds 20 billion lbs/year, will come to market in a timely manner as producers face  challenges, including permitting and project delays, producers say....
